Airline companies have been accused of gouging prices for airline tickets flying out of areas that were affected by Hurricane Irma, knowing that people were going to buy tickets to leave no matter what. They have now set caps on flights for those areas that were affected by Hurricane Maria.

People who are really in need and need to get out of a certain area may be unable to afford a plane ticket to do so. By putting a cap on airline tickets they allow for more people to be able to leave if they need to.

Those that are stuck in a situation like need direct professional communication to ensure their safety and that nothing is miscommunicated. Those are the most important things in an event like that because people will go into survival mode and do not take into consideration their surroundings.

Who:
Those that work for the theme parks as well as those that were trying to visit during the hurricane are impacted.

  1. Good afternoon Haley,
I think that what you were saying about Price Gouging before Irma is spot on. There was no call for the airlines to jack up prices before Irma, also I am glad to hear there was a cap put on airfare before Maria. I understand that due to Hurricane Harvey gas prices have gone up and in return airfare may be slightly increased to offset that cost, but price gouging is just uncalled for.
    Great 5A post!
