8A - Solving the Problem

I found an opportunity for students that have busy schedules and actives lives to be able to afford healthy and fast food options instead of the unhealthy options that we often go to because they are cheap and open late. My solution would be to create a drive-thru fast food restaurant close to campus that you can get quick and healthy meals at. The restaurant would be open late, until about 3 am or so, and would also have a delivery service. The restaurant would be open to everyone however they would offer a discount to students. I think this would be a good incentive to get students to eat healthy options at any time of the day. I would also have a constantly changing menu to insure that all different types of healthy foods were being incorporated and that students always wanted to go and didn't get tired of the foods that were being offered. The delivery service would be cheap and would also run until the restaurant closed.

  1. Good Afternoon Haley,
I am really liking your idea. However, I do see some draw backs just targeting the college student. I like the fact you are giving a student discount, but what about the students that leave a party and want nothing but junk food. I say this taking into count the many younger students that leave a party and head straight for taco bell. I guess my real question is how are you going to target those students?
    Again great Idea.

  2. Hey Haley. This is honestly a really great idea, and it would definitely succeed near college campuses. There are however a few problems that would need to be solved, like how to produce healthy meals for a cheap price. Typically, things that are healthier are either in smaller portion or cost more to produce. Also, like Zachary said, you would have to think of a way to target students who do want a more filling variety of food. In terms of the market, it is a tough market to enter, but your idea is something that is hard to find, so it would be desired.
